Sires
Above you will see the sires of the 2011 lamb crop and the sires we will be using this fall for the 2012 lamb crop.  With the formation of our genetic pool, Mount Rushmore Consortium, we will rotate sire lines each year for the benefit of all. The young sire battery that we used last year has moved on to their new MRC flocks.  We had a great C line lamb with a 112.4 US Maternal that will be standing at DB Farms.  The U line lamb is now at Lambshire with a 112.7. Feel free to contact these flock for both the U and C lines next summer.  Don’t forget we have ewes exposed to both of these ram for November.  Check with us in January on the availability of fall born rams out of both the C and U lines.

We got two great young sires in the draw this year.  First the D line is represented by Yel 621.  He is a big stout coming two with great numbers.  He has tremendous growth on his PWWT with a 6.2.  More impressive is his NLB at 10 and NLW at 17.  The strong Number Weaned gives him a 113.5 for his US Maternal + Wool.  I’m really looking forward to saving some daughters back from the D line.

The F line is a very correct stout made yearling.  He shows very good balance across the traits.   His strength lies in his MWWT number which is 2.1.  His daughter will have lambs and take care of them.  If you are looking for a strong maternal ram next year call us about his sons early.
